SOUND ENGINEER, BASS, PERCUSSION
I began engineering and creating at about age 8 using electronics and whatever I could get hold of... (first project that I remember was converting a room to room toy telephone to a speakerphone). Things have gotten much more interesting as my budget and experience have increased... Got a job at 12 as an electrician's helper. (They eventually taught me not only high voltage wiring, but control circuitry and even building PC computers too.) I got my first car in '83 and before we got it running I installed my first stereo amp and speaker system. Soon after, I began playing air guitar and air drums. Over the years, the sound systems have gotten bigger and better. I've come a long way from that first AM radio fed system.
Once I started driving, I discovered my purpose by helping a stranded motorist. It is: Helping people in their dark hour. I had no idea how much that would shape my life later on.
I met Sheila in '94 and soon after began trying to get her music out there. In '97 we decided to make a CD, so, we built our studio and recorded "Light." I read an article in a magazine that said "whoever owns the PA runs the band." So we built our PA system. (Hi-fi, of course) Bose speakers, and 1000 clean watts of power. In '02, things really began to pick up. We started playing out a lot more, hitting tons of open mic nights, and eventually running the PA and doing live recordings using our computer based equipment. We started Nubzilla's Cafe to promote our fellow artists, and launched Nubzilla Records. (www.nubzilla.com)
I started playing fretless electric bass, URB in '04... then the floodgates opened and now I play percussion of all sorts, keyboards, sequencing and guitar leads too, all while running the sound live. In addition, I am adding video mixing, VJ and automatic lighting control. (when our show opens, I am gonna be one busy dude on stage running all this stuff!!) I am currently building our stage gear. Modifying brand new and vintage equipment to suit our needs. Will be running between 3 to 5 computers plus live instruments...
